TEC Events & News October 2024

It's (technically) fall and we've got plenty of great events and new content to enjoy. Crowd favorite Mustafa Ungyer, from MicroFix, is back for our October Right to Repair workshop. This month's Privacy PIE meetup will cover the basics of car surveillance – what your car knows about you and what you can (and, truthfully, can't) do about that. We've also got two new TEC Talks episodes. In our short form episode David Koontz tells us what it's like to be front end senior software engineer. Our deep dive episode stems from the August TEC Article Club selection. Hermit Technologies co-Director Jordan Andersen sat down with TEC CTO Charles Knox to discuss founding a radically ethical software consultancy and how AI can often get overhyped, overpromised, and oversold.
