ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME

If you're interested in hardware or electronics (and to be fair there's a good amount of software/programming chatter, too, so programmers welcome), this is the meetup you've been looking for.

👉 If you have a hardware project you're working on, bring it!

👉 If you want to experiment with taking some hardware apart, we can help you with that!

👉 If you have a project you're stuck on, bring it! We promise there'll be chill, experienced folks who can answer your questions.

🌮 This is a low-key social event, so no speakers, just socializing, snacking and tinkering. We'll have tacos for participants and there are chips and beverages courtesy of TEC.

🛠 The ACSL's iFixIt equipped repair stations have all the funky-tipped screwdrivers, outlets, and anti-static surfaces you could ever need, and they'll be available for use. There are also several 3D printers.

July 2025 Privacy PIE

We're excited to welcome Andrew Crocker, Surveillance Litigation Director for the EFF, as this month's EFA Edition of Privacy PIE!

Time: 4 p.m.

Location: Hybrid event (Andrew will be speaking remotely)

In person: Enjoy the company of the usual Privacy PIE crew, food and a "watch party" vibe

Advanced Cyber Systems Lab

GateWay Community College - Washington Campus

108 N. 40th St.
Phoenix, AZ 85034

The ACSL is located in Room 2108 of the MA building.  Directions and parking map: https://techedcollab.org/directions/

Remote:  Watch from the comfort of your home or office!

Please register to receive a remote link.

As Surveillance Litigation Director, Andrew Crocker leads EFF's legal work on issues at the intersection of technology and privacy through lawsuits and amicus briefs in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

Representative cases include challenging the constitutionality of national security letters (NSLs); working to establish that the Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination protects against the compelled decryption of electronic devices; and limiting overbroad anti-hacking laws such as the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA).

Andrew will discuss what it means to turn a passion for privacy into a career, what he loves about it, what he's currently working on, his most challenging cases, and answer any questions you may have.
